slacking...and life

So it seems like I have been slacking on my blog...yep, I'm sure I have since there has not been any updates since January... :)

Well let's see if I can recap the happenings of the last few months...

Since the last blog we have done lots of ice fishing...we went to a ice fishing derby in Meteetsee where none of us won any money but it was eventful!  For those of you who dont know, I am an Operations Coordinator for Wyoming Machinery company's Field Welding department (a.k.a. its a fancy name for dispatcher) and even though it was my weekend the work never stops and I was expected to be answering my phone so...that is what I was doing while standing on a huge chunk of ice :) so anyway the service wasnt that great and I was waiting for a call back because I was sending a guy out to cover some work and I heard my phone, which was in the breast pocket of my coat, so I pulled it out and I was getting ready to check my message but just then my pole started to dip, signaling I had a fish on and I was determined to catch him so I slide my phone back into my breat pocket really quick...realed in my fish, which wasnt very big so I let him go and as I was dropping my line back down in the water...Plop....my phone went too...it had slid out of my pocket and I watched it sink... :(  Now anyone who has ever had their phone break or been without it for a few days knows the feeling that I was having...the sinking in my gut as I realize I have just lost all my contacts...all my photos...and I was now not able to hear that message I was previously trying to check so I was freaking out...needless to say...and then, all of a sudden it hit me!!!   I DIDNT PAY FOR THIS PHONE AND BECAUSE IT WAS MY WORK PHONE...THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT!!! :)  This helped me calm down alot and after that it because a funny story...now I just had to tell the people I work for that I "lost" it... :)
Anyway...I got a new phone and all my contacts where saved because of the work phone mimicing my computer and the only loss was my memory card with all my pictures...so...I dont have any ice fishing pictures but I do have a new phone! :)

Then...lets move on to February, Valentine's Day marked the anniversary of our engagement and that was and always be a special day for us.  Then on the 22nd Brody turned 5 and I was going to try and be a crafty parent much like my mom was and I was going to make his cake instead of buy one...so that's what I did...I make him a nerf gun cake...only problem was...when I put it in front of him he said "what is that?"  LOL...I think my cake decorating skills need to be refined a bit :)
See...it looks like a nerf gun right?!  This was before it was completely finished but close...I think!

Brody and Dad playing his new DS

Then in March we added a new member to the Buther Family, his name is Guzzle!  He was born on January 11th and joined our family on March 5th. He is a Boston Terrier/Pug mix and he is my baby! :)  He is such a good puppy...we still have a few accidents here and there but he is only 15 weeks old so that will have to be expected and some days are better then others.  He loves to be outside and he loves to play fetch...he is Henry's new best friend too...they get along so well.

His first sunny day outside...being he was born in Januray he had never been outside before coming to live with us...and he loves it!
Playing fetch

Best play buddies!
Then in April...that's still this month for another two days but I had the pleasure of traveling to Newberg Oregan for work.  I went for some training and it was so beautiful there...I'm glad that we had the chance to get out and see the coast and explore the area a little bit...its so green I was wondering (being from Wyoming) what season the grass turns brown there but I dont think it ever really does...
Oregon...beautiful view of a vineyard!

My Bore Welding Skills...
And of course we celebrated Easter last weekend with Brody and it was nice to have him around...once again I slacked on that because I didnt take pictures but his dad did...it was a good weekend.  Friday my cousin's Whit and Tio were in town and it was great to hang out with them and meet their girlfriends...it brought back alot of memories from when we were kids and used to hang out so much...the Johnson's and the Winter's... :)

Anyway...that is the Butcher family's story so far...stay tuned for more in another two to three months...LOL

Introducing myself...

I guess since I am new at this maybe I can start by introducing myself.  I am Cherie!  Okay...that's all I got LOL!  Just kidding.

I'm actually not really good at talking about myself so why dont I just introduce you to my family instead.  I was recently married this past September to the most wonderful man I have ever met in my life!  He truly is my best friend, his name is Andrew!  Then there is his son, my new step son Brody who will be turning 5 in a month and its hard to believe he is that old because I did know his father when he was born and we started dating right before he turned 3...so I have enjoyed seeing him grow just as much as the other mom.  And then last but not least by any means there is Henry...the dog!  Henry is the most jealous dog I think I have ever met and I get a real kick out of it when someone else is getting attention that he thinks he should be getting...

Anyway...here is my start to my Blog...and here is my family

Starting a blog...

This blogging is all new to me but I decided to start one as I have read other's and seen all their pictures and it looks like a good way to stay connected and to keep up with the pictures that I take (when my scrapbooking is falling behind) maybe this will give me the motivation!
